The first week ...
This is not how I wanted to document the first week of the diet, but I didn't exactly pick the best week to start. My mother just left after visiting for the weekend, so there were a couple of big dinners and of course, I spent most of my time with her rather than typing into a blog.
We had a delicious brunch at a local restaurant, and I managed to contain myself to some extent. Passing up an unlimited quantity of good peameal bacon was too tempting, though.
Still, I did my first weigh-in at Fortino's on Monday. The actual total from the first week was 363.1 pounds, and I tipped the scales at 359.8 pounds this time around, so a net loss of 3.3 pounds. I can live with that.
I found it a little disconcerting not to strip butt naked and get off as much weight as I could. Of course, I wasn't naked the first time I measured myself, and I don't think the nice people at Fortino's would appreciate it at any rate. I will say I was wearing shorts and sandals last week, and Dockers and hiking boots this time. Maybe it means another pound or so -- I'll let that stuff slide.
